Ariana Grande has reflected on her 2018 while thanking fans for helping her through one of the “best years of my career and the worst of my life”.

The ‘Thank U, Next‘ pop star took to Instagram earlier today (December 31) to share thoughts with her 141 million followers as the year draws to a close.

“Farewell 2018, you fuck. I hope this new year brings you all much laughter, clarity and healing,” Grande captioned an image of herself. “be gentle with yourselves and each other. if we made it thru this last year, we’ll for sure make it thru this one.”

The singer signed off by telling fans: “thank you for everything.” See the post below.

Grande had described the past 12 months as one of the “best years of my career and the worst of my life” while accepting the Billboard Woman of the Year award earlier this month.

2018 has seen Ariana Grande grieve the loss of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who died in September. In October, the singer split from her fiancée Pete Davidson, five months after the couple confirmed their engagement.

Grande had told fans she had been through “hell and back” following Miller’s death, while explaining that she had taken a break to focus on her mental health.

Elsewhere, Ariana Grande broke a number of streaming records following the release of ‘Thank U, Next‘.

The break-up banger gained 14.9 million streams in one week alone earlier this month, making it the highest number of plays in a week in UK chart history. Grande took the record from Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’, which earned 14.2 million streams in a single week last year.

After reaching her fifth week at number one, Grande became the longest-running female artist to remain at the UK top spot since 2008, with Katy Perry’s ‘I Kissed A Girl’ spending five weeks at Number 1.

Meanwhile, it was reported yesterday (December 30) that Ariana Grande has turned down the offer of a Damehood in respect to fans who were affected by the Manchester Arena bomb attack.

In other news, the star cancelled a New Year show in Vegas tonight citing “health issues”.
