A fan of The Office has revealed how he saved a woman’s life after learning CPR from one of the show’s most popular scenes.
According to the Arizona Daily Star, mechanic Cross Scott was test-driving a customer’s car when he noticed a white sedan that was drifting on the side of the road with its hazard lights on.
After pulling over, Scott noticed a woman slumped over the wheel and smashed her car window open with a rock before deciding to check her pulse.
While Scott and two other women waited for emergency services to arrive, he climbed on top of the unconscious woman’s chair and began performing CPR.
Scott says that he immediately imagined of the scene where Michael Scott sings the Bee Gees’ ‘Stayin Alive’ as he performs CPR – which just so happens to be the correct tempo for chest compressions.
His actions proved decisive – the woman vomited and started breathing before being taken to hospital. Ever the hero, Scott then headed back to work before later visiting the woman in hospital.

Speaking afterwards, the Arizona Red Cross explained that Scott’s CPR may have proved to be the difference between life and death.
“If you don’t do CPR, that victim will die,” said Courtney Slanaker, executive director of the Red Cross Southern Arizona chapter.
“Don’t be afraid to act. Whatever you do will help that victim and hopefully prevent a death.”
Meanwhile, the cast of The Office reunited for a barbecue in December 2018 – amid rumours that a revival of the hugely popular sitcom could be on the cards.
Earlier this month, it was also confirmed that Steve Carell will reunite with The Office creator Greg Daniels for Space Force, which will focus on President Trump’s proposed intergalactic defence team.
