Watch BTS see in 2019 with dazzling performance of ‘Mic Drop (Remix)’ in Korea

It's been a BIG year for the K-pop icons

BTS celebrated the New Year in Korea with a live TV performance of ‘Mic Drop (Remix)’. Check out the clip below.

The group – comprised of Jimin, V, RM. J-Hope, Jungkook, Suga and Jin – took to the stage at 2018’s MBC Gayo Daejejun to celebrate the start of 2019.

Kitted out in red and black clothing, the ‘Love Yourself: Answer’ boyband unleashed highly-choreographed moves as they sang the hit. At the end of the performance, Suga swapped a mic drop move for a scroll that read ‘BTS – Happy new year ARMY’ in the Korean alphabet, Hangul.

2018 saw BTS make history as they became the first ever K-pop group to be nominated for a Grammy. Elsewhere, they were the first Korean artists to top the US charts twice. In October, the group performed two huge shows at London’s O2 Arena in support of their latest LP.

Meanwhile, yesterday (December 30) saw member Jimin surprise fans with the release of his first self-composed solo song, ‘Promise’.

Making the track available for free on Soundcloud, the star wrote: “Everyone, you’ve been waiting long for a long time, yes? I have finally dropped my self-produced track. This is a song for myself but this is also a song for you guys. This is my first time, so it’s a bit raw, but please listen to it. Thank you ARMYs for having waited patiently.”

In other news, BTS were caught up in a seven-car collision while touring in Taiwan earlier this month.

All seven members of the K-pop band were leaving the Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium when a sudden stop caused seven cars to collide. It was confirmed later that all members were unharmed.
