The release of Ryan Adams‘ next album ‘Big Colors’ has reportedly been cancelled following the claims of sexual misconduct which have been made against the musician this week.
Adams has been accused by several women of sexual misconduct, manipulation and abuse, with the claims being detailed in a New York Times article earlier this week. Through his lawyer, Andrew B. Brettler, Adams denied the “extremely serious and outlandish accusations” that he claimed were “grousing by disgruntled individuals” who blamed him for “personal or professional disappointments.”
It has now been reported that the release of Adams’ next solo album, titled ‘Big Colors’, has been pulled from release following the publication of the allegations. The album was due to come out on April 19 and was set to be one of three album releases Adams had planned for 2019.
As Variety reports, various music retailers have been notified that the release of ‘Big Colors’ has been shelved by Universal Music Group, whose division Blue Note have a distribution deal with Adams’ label Pax-Am.

Maine and New Hampshire record store retailer Bull Moose Vinyl uploaded a screenshot of the notification they received about ‘Big Colors’ last night, which “advised the Ryan Adams album has been cancelled effective immediately”.
NME has contacted Adams’ representatives for further comment.
