Rowetta added: “I’m really looking forward to this tour, almost 30 years since I first got on stage with the Mondays. The band and the fans are like family to me and I still love singing these songs as much as I did in 1990.”

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Bez was ‘in talks’ to take part in Strictly Come Dancing 2019. Shaun Ryder said that he too was asked, but there were fears that he would swear too much.

“I did get asked to do Strictly, yes, and it was at the same time I got asked to do the Jungle…“The absolute truth of that is Strictly f***** me off and the Jungle had me,” said Ryder.

He added: “I don’t think they were going to let me go on Saturday night television live on the BBC…I might have said ‘F*** off you c**** – who the f*** do you think you are you bunch of t**** talking about me?

“I might have done that, just might. There might have been a small chance.”
